AGFC Mobile Aquarium Visits Malvern/HSC Library

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) mobile aquarium made a visit to the Malvern/HSC Library on June 12, 2024. The mobile aquarium offered attendees the chance to see a variety of native Arkansas fish species, including small sunfish and larger fish like the giant catfish. The aquarium’s arrival not only provided a fascinating experience for those in attendance but also highlighted the AGFC’s efforts to promote environmental and aquatic education for the public.

At the visit, attendees were treated to the sight and information about various fish species native to Arkansas. The exhibit was accompanied by AGFC staff who were happy to answer questions about aquatic resources and provide educational literature. This hands-on educational experience allowed visitors of all ages to engage with and learn more about the diverse marine life found in Arkansas.

As a part of the AGFC’s wider educational programs, the mobile aquarium serves as a valuable tool in educating the community about the importance of conservation and preservation of natural resources. By bringing this unique exhibit directly to communities, the AGFC aims to inspire its visitors to take an active role in protecting and appreciating the state’s natural heritage.

This visit was just one of the many stops the mobile aquarium will make across the state, promoting outdoor and environmental education through interactive displays and engaging with the public. As such events continue to take place, the AGFC hopes to foster a growing appreciation and understanding of Arkansas’s diverse ecosystem and its many wonders.

The AGFC’s commitment to environmental and educational efforts sets a strong example for engagement with local communities, inspiring public interest and involvement in preserving the natural environment. With the mobile aquarium as an important part of these efforts, there is no doubt that the AGFC will continue to make a significant impact in promoting understanding and protection of Arkansas’s rich natural resources.
