The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) is dedicated to providing enjoyable educational experiences while promoting outdoor activities and conservation. Schools, educators, and the public can engage with various programs and resources that promote wildlife and nature exploration.
Educational Grants for Conservation
For the upcoming year, more than 8,000 is available in education grants from wildlife violation fines. These grants, administered by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC), support conservation education initiatives in schools and conservation districts across the state. Teachers and administrators can apply for these grants to fund programs and activities promoting wildlife conservation and education. The AGFC provides numerous programs and resources that enhance learning opportunities for students, particularly in rural areas where resources are scarce.
Outdoor Skills Program
The AGFC also offers an extensive Outdoor Skills Program, providing hands-on experiences and knowledge in various outdoor pursuits. These include archery, hunting, fishing, wildlife-watching, and more. Participants can track their progress through a patch program, beginning with beginner skills and progressing to expert levels.
