Arkansas State Troopers Honored at Ceremony in Benton
In a prestigious event that highlighted dedication and bravery, Arkansas State Troopers were lauded for their outstanding service at the 2024 Officer of the Year Awards luncheon held in Benton.
The ceremony, attended by esteemed guests and law enforcement officials, served as a testament to the unwavering commitment of these troopers to keep Arkansans safe.
Attorney General Tim Griffin led the ceremony, proudly acknowledging the service, sacrifice, and dedication of the state’s finest law enforcement officers. He emphasized that the men and women recognized were not just exemplary but truly represent the best of law enforcement in Arkansas.
Honorees of the Year
The honorees included officers from various counties and regions, celebrating their extraordinary contributions to public safety. These include:
- Statewide Officer of the Year: Chief Deputy John Cutrell from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was honored for his commendable efforts.
- Northeast Region: Corporal Marcus Simpson of the Arkansas State Police received recognition for his outstanding service.
- Southeast Region: Chief Deputy John Cutrell was once again recognized, this time from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
- Southwest Region: Deputy Joshua Butterworth from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office was celebrated for his dedication to duty.
- Central Region: Trooper Austin Duncan of the Arkansas State Police was acknowledged for his heroic actions in stopping a speeding driver on Interstate 630.
