Arkansas Beef Council Launches Best Burger Contest
The Arkansas Beef Council has announced the inaugural Arkansas’s Best Burger Contest, open for nominations from September 1 to September 30, 2024. This competition aims to find the top all-beef hamburgers in the state, with the winner crowned in late October.
Starting September 1, burger enthusiasts can nominate their favorite burger online at arkansasbeef.org. The contest encourages the promotion of 100% beef burgers prepared in Arkansas restaurants. Follow the Arkansas Beef Council’s Facebook for updates on the contest.
The contest rules emphasize that only 100% beef burgers are eligible. These burgers must be composed of formed ground beef patties served on a bun or other bread product, with various condiments, sauces, cheeses, and toppings allowed. The nominated burgers must be regularly available on the restaurant’s menu, with the winner committing to keep the winning burger on their menu for the following year.
Rather than focusing on individual chefs, the contest highlights local restaurants, requiring them to be open for business by the start of the nomination period. The top two burgers from each of the five regions will be selected as finalists, ensuring a diverse representation from across the state.
Anonymous judges will visit the top ten hamburger restaurants to sample and compare their offerings. The winner will be announced on October 31, crowning the champion and solidifying their place as the home of the best burger in Arkansas.
Arkansas residents are encouraged to visit their favorite restaurants and cast their votes. This initiative not only seeks to identify the best burger but also promotes local businesses and celebrates the state’s culinary delights.
