The Saline County Library is offering a variety of events and activities for adults and children alike to engage in creative pursuits, have fun with the family, and even improve their physical well-being.
Adults looking for a productive way to enjoy their free time can head to the Makerspace, where they can explore a range of tools and materials to channel their inner artist or inventor. From crafting to tinkering, Makerspace provides the resources for a fun and imaginative experience. Each Tuesday, adults can participate in a craft session from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, creating jewelry, custom cards, and more.
For those interested in fitness and relaxation, the library is hosting Tai Chi for Beginners sessions. Led by Certified Personal Trainer and fitness coach Jo Tabor, these sessions aim to teach participants the basics of this meditative practice. No prior experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably and take advantage of this opportunity to improve their well-being.
Family-centric activities are also abundant at the library. Children aged 3 to 6 can join Ms. Amanda for a fun-filled morning of learning about the ocean and its creatures, followed by an ocean-themed craft activity. There are also regular storytime sessions for pre-schoolers, providing an engaging way for them to learn and grow.
In addition to these programs, the library also hosts events like “Birds of a Feather” for those interested in bird-watching and “Games with the Grands” where grandparents can bond with their grandchildren over board games and puzzles. Teens have their own special events, like the “Library Prom” where they can dance the night away with friends.
