California Man Arrested in Arkansas with Over 100 Pounds of Illegal High-Grade Marijuana
David Willis, a 44-year-old man from Lower Lake, California, was apprehended by the Arkansas State Police after a traffic stop revealed he was transporting a massive quantity of illegal marijuana.
During the traffic stop, which occurred on Interstate 40 near mile marker 104 in Conway County around 4:40 p.m. on August 21, Troopers discovered multiple large trash bags in the trunk of Willis’ rented 2023 Chevrolet Malibu. These bags contained vacuum-sealed bundles of high-grade marijuana, weighing a total of 105 pounds.
Willis initially claimed he was traveling from California to Knoxville, Tennessee. He was subsequently arrested and charged with felony possession with intent to deliver and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
