Arkansas Burger Frenzy: Competitions and Contests Heat Up

Get ready to indulge in the world of burgers as Arkansas gears up for two exciting events: the Miracle League Burger Competition and Arkansas’s Best Burger Contest.

Miracle League Burger Competition

This competition is open to food enthusiasts, home cooks, and professional chefs, all vying for the title of the best burger. The winner of the blind judging in each competition will receive a golden ticket to the World Food Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, to be held from November 8-12, 2024. Guests will have the opportunity to taste and vote for their favorite burgers in the People’s Choice Award, accompanied by live music and a beer tent.

The Springdale competition will take place on Saturday, September 21, at The Shiloh Square and Turnbow Park, where attendees can enjoy unlimited slider-sized burgers throughout the event. Proceeds from the competition will benefit the Miracle League of Arkansas, which provides a barrier-free baseball league for children and adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

Arkansas’s Best Burger Contest

The Arkansas Beef Council is hosting its inaugural statewide Best Burger Contest, open to any restaurant serving 100% beef burgers. Nominations are open from September 1 to 30, 2024, and the top 10 finalists will be announced on October 11. An anonymous judging panel will then select the winner, which will be announced by the end of October. The contest aims to promote 100% beef burgers prepared in Arkansas restaurants. Finalists will be chosen based on taste, appearance, and overall presentation, and the winning burger must remain on the menu for the following calendar year.

The contest is divided into five regions across the state, with the top two burgers from each region advancing to the final round. Restaurants must be open year-round and have their nominated burger on their regular menu to qualify. With over 600 nominations already received, this contest promises to be a thrilling celebration of Arkansas’s burger scene.

Arkansas foodies, burger enthusiasts, and anyone looking to explore the state’s culinary delights should mark their calendars for these exciting events. Both the Miracle League Burger Competition and Arkansas’s Best Burger Contest are sure to showcase the best of the state’s burger offerings and bring people together in the spirit of good food and community.
