Saline County Comic Expo Returns June 15

Comic book enthusiasts, cosplayers, and pop culture fans are gearing up for the Saline County Comic Expo, set to take place from June 15 to 16 at the Benton Event Center.

The event marks its 16th year and promises to deliver a universe of fun with a diverse range of activities. On Saturday, the dealer room opens at 10 a.m., followed by a series of panels starting at 11 a.m. with “Real Ghost Hunting with The Ghostbusters” featuring Charles Johnson. Additional panels include “Creating Comics: The OG Way” with Nick Helms, an exploration of voice acting by Ryan Andes, and insights into being a Yellow Power Ranger from Power Rangers: Turbo and Power Rangers in Space by Tracy Lynn Cruz.

Adding to the excitement, a Cosplay Panel hosted by the Star Wars Family will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, followed by the Cosplay Contest at 4 p.m. The contest features categories for individuals and groups, with registration available at the Star Wars Family table. A highlight of the event will be the award for the Overall Best Cosplayer for 2023, split into Male and Female categories.

The dealer room will host a wide range of vendors offering a variety of comics, toys, and collectibles. Attendees can explore offerings from local and out-of-state dealers, including Kapow Comics, Fan Fortress, Otaku Take Out, D2 Comics & More, Fortress Comics, Crutchfield Comics, Star Toys Comic, Cards & Collectibles, and ZHETTY, among many others.

On Sunday, the dealer room opens at 10 a.m., and the Cosplay Contest continues with groups competing for the top spot. The event concludes with the dealer room closing at 3 p.m.
