Saline County Man Accused of Attempted Murder Found Hiding in Creek
On Monday, July 15, 2024, at about 10:30 a.m., Alexander Police Department received a call regarding a disturbance involving a suspect who allegedly attempted to kill someone. Three officers responded to the scene at Knollwood mobile home community on Alexander Road. Upon arriving, the officers found blood in the floor from the living area to the kitchen and to the back of the home.
The victims claimed that the suspect, identified as Luis Galdamez-Arriaza, left the scene on foot. An officer initially searched the area but did not find him. The female resident stated that the suspect had been beating on the door earlier and forced his way into the home when the male resident answered, assaulting him with gardening shears and a box cutter.
- On the same day, Galdamez-Arriaza made several phone calls to the female resident, during which he mentioned being “on a mountain.” This led officers to search his previous residence on the back side of the Emerald Mountain neighborhood, but they did not find him there.
- Three days later, on July 18, 2024, Saline County Dispatch reported that Galdamez-Arriaza was fleeing on foot after Arkansas State Police used a Tactical Vehicle Intervention maneuver on the vehicle at W. Azalea and Mathews Drive.
- Officer Hobby joined ASP and Bryant Police Department in searching for Galdamez-Arriaza for hours and eventually located him in a creek at the dead end of Woodsgate Cove.
Galdamez-Arriaza was taken to Encore Heart Hospital for a health check and then to the Saline County Detention Center (SCDC) where he was being held on a 0,000 bond. Officers found what appeared to be dried blood on his shorts, tennis shoes, and wallet, matching the description provided by the victims.
