Arkansas State Police Arrest Man with Six Pounds of Fentanyl
The Arkansas State Police (ASP) and the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) collaborated in a high-speed pursuit that led to the arrest of Clifford Siglar, a 36-year-old Little Rock man, with a substantial quantity of fentanyl. The dramatic chase unfolded on Monday, August 26, and saw the suspect reaching speeds of over 110 miles per hour in a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro.
The pursuit began when ASP Troopers initially spotted the vehicle in a residential area near Baseline Road and South University Avenue. The covert pursuit soon turned into a ferocious chase as the suspect tried to evade authorities. The Troopers utilized a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) maneuver, also known as the PIT maneuver, which forced Siglar off the road and led to his eventual capture.
- The vehicle search revealed a backpack containing six pounds of fentanyl and a loaded handgun, prompting multiple felony charges against Siglar, including Trafficking of a Controlled Substance, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
- After abandoning his vehicle, Siglar attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended in a nearby tree-lined area.
- The extensive charges and arrests are significant in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in Arkansas.
