UALR Undergraduate Enrollment Sees Rise of 3.7%
Application and Admission Growth
Notably, there has been a substantial increase in both undergraduate applications and admissions. A 16.7% surge in applications and a 19.4% rise in admissions continue to demonstrate the institution’s appeal to prospective students. Chancellor Christina Drale stated that this growth is a direct result of the dedication and innovative strategies employed by the faculty, staff, and leadership.
Breakdown of Enrollment Data
The Fall 2024 census revealed that the overall undergraduate enrollment increased from 5,242 students in 2023 to 5,434 this academic year. This growth, though substantial, was offset by a minor decline in graduate enrollment from 1,535 to 1,479 students. However, the primary cause of this decline was a reduction in international student numbers.
Initiatives Contributing to Growth
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has implemented several successful initiatives that have bolstered student enrollment. For example, the Trojan Guarantee scholarship program launched in 2023 provides full tuition to eligible students. Similarly, the Half-Off Scholarship launched in 2020 offers tuition reductions without income requirements. These measures, coupled with the institution’s upgrading of academic facilities and expanded internship opportunities, have enhanced its attractiveness to students and their families.
Chancellor’s Response
Chancellor Christina Drale attributed this enrollment growth to the collective efforts of the faculty, staff, and leadership. She emphasized that everyone at UA Little Rock contributed to creating an environment that welcomes students and supports their success.
