Bella Vista City Council Approves Seeking Debris Disposal Services After Aug. 16 Storm
The Bella Vista City Council has approved seeking debris disposal services following the severe storms that hit Northwest Arkansas on August 16. This decision aims to support the community in cleaning up the damage left by the storm.
The debris pickup project began on Monday, August 26, focusing on residential areas west of U.S. Highway 71. Residents were instructed to prepare their debris by placing it at least 10 feet from the road’s edge and arranging it parallel to the street. The collection crew will make a single pass through the city, meaning residents need to have their debris ready for collection on the designated date. The order of collection may vary due to ongoing road resurfacing efforts.
Notably, certain items like household items, construction debris, fences, chemicals, rootballs, and landscaping materials will not be accepted for pickup. This targeted collection ensures that only storm-related debris is removed, streamlining the process.
While specific details on the duration of the collection period are not available, it highlights the city’s proactive approach to addressing the aftermath of the storm. By providing this service, Bella Vista demonstrates its commitment to supporting its residents in recovering from the disaster.
The council’s approval of debris disposal services underscores the importance of disaster recovery efforts. It is a crucial step in restoring normalcy to the community and ensuring that public spaces are safe and accessible.
