Benton County’s Disaster Recovery Center to Relocate Starting Friday
The Disaster Recovery Center in Benton County is changing locations. From Friday, it will be located in Room B103 at the Shewmaker Center for Workforce Technologies on the campus of Northwest Arkansas Community College. The address is 1000 S.E. Eagle Way, Bentonville.
The center, previously housed in Room 108 of the Paneitz Student Center, will maintain its operational hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. It will continue to be closed on Sundays. Parking is available at 1202 Water Tower Road in the adjacent multi-level parking garage on levels 2 and 3.
The center is open to local residents affected by the May 26 storm. They can visit the center without an appointment to meet with representatives from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and other Arkansas departments and community partners. The center also offers interpreters for Marshallese speakers.
Alternative means of applying for assistance include visiting disasterassistance.gov, using the FEMA mobile app, or calling (800) 621-3362 from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Help is available in most languages, and residents can visit Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ website at helparkansas.com for further storm recovery information.
It is crucial to note that while visiting a center is not necessary, applicants must handle receipts carefully as they are required for grant payments. The Arkansas Division of Emergency Management works closely with FEMA to coordinate response and recovery efforts for affected individuals and infrastructure.
