Bentonville City Council Approves Applying for More than .8 Million Grants for Airport Projects

Bentonville City Council Moves Forward with Airport Development

The Bentonville City Council has taken a significant step towards advancing airport infrastructure by approving applications for grants totaling over .8 million. This substantial investment will support critical projects at the Bentonville Municipal Airport, enhancing its capabilities and driving growth in the region.

One of the key projects includes taxiway construction, for which the council approved applying for a .25 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This improvement will boost the airport’s operational efficiency and further establish Bentonville as an aviation hub in the area.

In addition to the taxiway construction, the council also greenlit an application for a 6,553 FAA grant for a previously completed runway lighting project. This ongoing commitment to upgrading airport facilities demonstrates the city’s dedication to supporting the aviation community and promoting economic development.

These initiatives build upon the city’s existing progress, including the recent receipt of a 0,000 grant from the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics. This grant, awarded in February, will be used to construct a vital hangar access road on the airport’s western perimeter, granting seamless access to six new hangars planned for development.
