Bentonville Official Eyes August Groundbreaking for Downtown Adult Recreation Center

The city of Bentonville is making significant strides toward the development of its downtown area. This critical milestone signals the long-awaited groundbreaking for the highly anticipated project.

Renewing Community Spaces

The project forms part of Bentonville’s broader effort to revitalize its community spaces. Notably, Phillips Park, located west of SE J Street, is also underway for renovations scheduled to begin in the fall of 2023. This comprehensive approach to upgrading public facilities is poised to enhance the quality of life for residents across the city.

An Investment in Community Health

The Adult Recreation Center is specifically designed to address the wellness needs of the community. Public input sessions and statistically valid surveys were conducted to tailor the center’s services to the requirements of the area’s adults, aged 50 and above. Early plans suggest the expansion of an indoor swimming pool and general fitness infrastructure.

Concrete Plans

Site work and renovation details for the Adult Recreation Center are now being ironed out. With the final price set to be revealed in August, Bentonville is poised to move forward with construction. This considerable investment in community health stands as a testament to the city’s commitment to its residents.
