Blackhawk Runners shine at Take Flight Competition

The Blackhawk cross country runners recently showcased their skills at the Take Flight “Night” 5K for high school and 3.2K for junior high Invitational. Held at the Northwest Arkansas Community College on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024, this event brought together top runners from various schools.

In the junior high division, Bristol Walker from Pea Ridge Jr. High secured 16th place with a time of 13:44.85, and Christian Ingram came in 23rd with a time of 13:58.46. The Lady Blackhawks also performed well, with Cate Parker placing sixth in the senior high division with an impressive time of 20:55.13. Emily Scott finished 18th with a time of 22:57.44.

On the boys’ side, the Blackhawks were led by Cruz Porter, who took fourth place in the senior high division with a time of 17:13.26. Ryan Lewis and Camren Smith followed closely, finishing seventh and 13th, respectively. Collin Slocum secured 15th place, rounding out a strong performance from the Blackhawks.
