Catherine Garcia Named as Director of Curatorial Affairs at Crystal Bridges

Catherine Garcia has been appointed as the Director of Curatorial Affairs at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Momentary. This strategic appointment comes ahead of the museum’s significant expansion planned for 2026, emphasizing the need for innovative and vision-driven leadership.

As the new Director of Curatorial Affairs, Garcia will focus on shaping the museum’s curatorial vision and further enhancing its collection of 3,500 objects. Her expertise in both national and international arts domains will bridge the gap between Crystal Bridges and the global art community.

With over two decades of experience in various curatorial roles, Garcia is perfectly poised to champion the museum’s mission to provide transformative art experiences. Her inaugural projects will center around the forthcoming expansion, which will increase the museum’s size by 50%.

Susan Peacock: Chief Impact Officer

Susan Peacock has been named as the first Chief Impact Officer at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Momentary. This newly created role underscores the museum’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships and collaborations in the wake of its expansion.

Peacock brings an immense wealth of experience, having worked in key positions such as vice president of Crystal Bridges Museum board chair Olivia Walton’s company, Ingeborg. Her areas of focus include public policy, business engagement, and philanthropic initiatives, which will significantly enhance the museum’s impact and outreach.

Effective August 12, Peacock will join the executive council, guiding both the development and membership teams. Her expertise will drive the museum’s initiatives forward, ensuring Crystal Bridges and the Momentary remain aligned with their mission, vision, and values.

The new role of Chief Impact Officer signifies the museum’s dedication to advancing its mission and deepening connections within the community.
