Meet McDonald County’s Newest FFA Officers

McDonald County’s newest FFA officers are making waves in their agricultural community. This accomplished group of students is dedicated to serving local, state, national, and international activities, inspiring FFA members, advisors, and teachers to achieve the organization’s mission and core goals.

Each year, six national officers are selected to represent the National FFA Organization. Annually, these dedicated student members dedicate a year of service, engaging in various responsibilities from representing student membership during meetings with the National FFA Board of Directors to facilitating workshops, delivering motivational speeches, and serving as global advocates for FFA.

The selection process involves a nominating committee at the National FFA Convention & Expo, ensuring that highly motivated individuals are chosen to lead the organization. To become a national officer, one must be an active FFA member, hold the American FFA Degree, and maintain active membership throughout their term.

One such highly motivated individual is Amara Jackson, who serves as president of the 2023-24 national FFA officers. Amara, hailing from Michigan, is joined by fellow officers Grant Norfleet from Missouri, Carter Howell from Florida, Kanyon Huntington from Iowa, Morgan Anderson from Ohio, and Emily Gossett from New Mexico. Together, they embody the FFA’s ideals and offer mentorship and guidance to active members.

  • During their term, these officers travel nationally and internationally to engage with FFA members, advisors, alumni, and supporters from diverse backgrounds. This exposure arms them with invaluable knowledge and leadership skills.

The officers reflect on their year of service, highlighting the growth and experiences they have achieved. In a recent Q&A session, the 2023-24 national officers shared their most memorable moments, emphasizing the importance of FFA for personal and professional development.

Through their journeys, these dedicated officers exemplify the FFA’s commitment to developing the next generation of leaders in agriculture. Their tireless efforts to serve, motivate, and inspire make them an inspiration to their peers, mentors, and the broader agricultural community.
