New Library Director Engages with Gravette Community

Lamarise Carrier, the new director of the Gravette Public Library, took center stage as guest speaker at the Gravette Lions Club’s regular meeting on Tuesday evening, September 10, 2024. This event marked a significant milestone as Carrier shared her vision and plans for the library with the local community.

This engagement underscores the Gravette Public Library’s commitment to staying connected with the area’s organizations and residents. The library has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1976 and has relocated to various locations over the years. Currently, it operates from 119 Main Street SE, offering a diverse range of services and programs.

In addition to its extensive media collection, the library provides a range of community activities, including literacy, STEM, and digital skills programs for both youth and adults. It also hosts events such as Moon Over Main Street and an Open House before the annual Christmas parade. These initiatives demonstrate the library’s dedication to supporting the educational and recreational needs of the Gravette community.

Carrier’s presence at the Lions Club meeting not only highlights the library’s engagement with local organizations but also emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts in fostering a culture of lifelong learning and community enrichment. As the Gravette Public Library continues to evolve and adapt to the needs of its patrons, this partnership will undoubtedly play a vital role in shaping its future endeavors.
