U.S. Olympic Cycling Team Preps for Paris Games in Bentonville
The U.S. Olympic cycling team is gearing up for the Paris 2024 Olympics in Bentonville, Arkansas. This picturesque town is becoming a hub for elite cyclists as they fine-tune their skills ahead of the world’s biggest stage.
USA Cycling recently announced the four athletes selected for the Mountain Biking events at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Haley Batten and Savilia Blunk will represent the United States in the women’s cross-country Olympic mountain bike event, while Christopher Blevins and Riley Amos will compete in the men’s category.
The athletes have been working diligently to reach peak performance. Batten, a returning Olympian, has had a string of victories, including a win in the Short Track and Cross-Country events at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Brazil. Blunk, a first-timer, has showcased her abilities with silver and bronze medals in the opening World Cup rounds.
On the men’s side, both Blevins and Amos hail from Durango, Colorado, a town renowned for its Olympic legacy in mountain biking. Blevins, who won this season’s first World Cup in April, is currently ranked second in the cross-country Olympic standings. Amos has had an impressive season, sweeping all three under-23 World Cup races this year.
The U.S. cycling team is dedicated to bringing home their first Olympic medal since the Athens 2004 Games. With their collective talent and focus, there is hope that they will break this 12-year drought and make history in Paris.
