Suspect in Multiple Homicides Across Two States Apprehended in Arkansas
Following an extensive manhunt, investigators in Arkansas have successfully captured Stacy Lee Drake, a suspect wanted in connection with four murders spanning two states.
Drake, a 50-year-old from Birmingham, Alabama, was identified as the prime suspect in three homicides in Oklahoma, which stemmed from two separate carjackings. In addition to these crimes, he was also wanted on multiple felony warrants from various jurisdictions for charges including aggravated robbery, carjacking, and murder.
The search for Drake intensified after he was spotted on foot near a motel in Morrilton, Arkansas. Authorities issued a warning to the public, describing him as “armed and dangerous” and cautioning against approaching him if seen. Surveillance footage from a local hotel in Morrilton captured Drake’s presence, but he had vanished when officers arrived.
The capture of Drake marks the end of a massive operation that involved collaboration between Arkansas State Police and other local law enforcement agencies. His capture brings relief to the communities affected by these gruesome crimes, as authorities can now move forward with the prosecution of Drake.
- Drake is described as a white male with brown hair and eyes, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds.
- He had a warrant for a homicide in Alabama and was suspected of three homicides in Oklahoma.
- Drake is believed to have purchased camping gear and initially evaded capture by blending into the local community.
The full extent of Drake’s crimes is still being investigated, with officials working to piece together the events surrounding the murders and carjackings.
