Arkansas Department of Transportation Announces Ramp and Road Closures for Various Projects
Across several areas in Arkansas, the Department of Transportation (ARDOT) has scheduled a series of ramp and lane closures to facilitate essential roadwork and improvement projects. These closures aim to enhance safety and efficiency for drivers on critical routes such as Interstate 30, Interstate 440, and Highway 67/229.
One of the key projects involves the widening of Interstate 30 to six lanes in Saline County. This endeavor will result in various closure patterns, including reduce lanes on South Street from Rasburry Street to Bell Street, and the closure of the I-30 east on-ramp. Interestingly, alternative routes via Sevier Street and Sevier Street/South Street interchanges will be provided to help mitigate the impact on local traffic.
In addition to these measures, multiple ramps at the Highway 67/229 and I-30 interchange will undergo closure at night, with no more than two ramps affected at the same time. Frontage roads north and south of I-30 will also be reduced to a single lane, managed through flagging operations.
Another significant project involves the nightly closure of the ramp from I-30 west to I-440 east. This closure will allow for bridge repairs and will detour traffic through Interstate 530 at Exit 3. The detour will cross over to use I-530 north to I-440.
Meanwhile, in projects related to Interstate 30 in Little Rock and North Little Rock, several lane closures are planned. These closures will come into effect during the week of June 24, mandating drivers to exercise caution due to changed traffic patterns.
These projects highlight ARDOT’s ongoing efforts to improve the state’s infrastructure. For more specific information on each project and the corresponding detours, drivers are advised to consult official sources like ARDOT.gov or IDriveArkansas.com.
