Arkansas State Police Arrest Conway Man Accused of Rape

In a recent development, the Arkansas State Police apprehended a Conway man accused of rape. The suspect, 38-year-old Dan Joyce, was arrested after a high-speed pursuit that reached speeds of 120 mph. Police were aided by the Conway Police Department during the operation. Following the arrest, Joyce was handed over to CPD custody.

This marks another milestone in the efforts to combat sexual assaults in the region. Just months prior, Arkansas State Police special agents arrested 30-year-old Jesse Anderson, also from Conway, after executing a search warrant on his home. It is worth noting that both arrests highlight the thoroughness of the authorities in tracking down and holding accountable those accused of such heinous crimes.

The strong stance against rape and other sexual offenses is evident in the region’s justice system. Even in cases where suspects are arrested and tried, the penalties are severe. For instance, earlier this year, 25-year-old Jonathan Flores, a Conway resident, was sentenced to 106 years in prison after being found guilty of rape and seven additional charges.

The persistence and diligence displayed by law enforcement agencies, along with the rigorous prosecution of those accused, underscore the region’s commitment to providing a safe environment for its citizens.

Though there are numerous examples of law enforcement agencies working to bring perpetrators to justice, there are also instances where investigations span several months or even years. For instance, Jeffery Horton, a 38-year-old from Conway, was arrested in 2019 for sexual assault charges after a report from Investigator Powell with the Arkansas State Police in February of that year.

These cases collectively illustrate the enduring efforts by law enforcement agencies and the judicial system to combat and prevent sexual crimes in Conway and the surrounding areas.
