California Man Arrested for Transporting Over 100 lbs of Marijuana

After a routine traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Conway County, Arkansas State Police (ASP) made a significant drug bust, uncovering over 100 pounds of illegal marijuana.

The driver, 44-year-old David Willis, hailing from Lower Lake, California, was arrested and taken into custody.

An extensive search of the rented vehicle led authorities to the discovery of vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana hidden in several large garbage bags in the trunk.

According to Willis, he was on his way from California to Knoxville, Tennessee. ASP officials charged him with the intent to distribute illegal substances and possession of drug-related paraphernalia.

Following his arrest, Willis was transported to the Conway County Detention Center.
