UCA Expands Engagement in Northwest Arkansas

Paul Gatling has been selected as the Senior Director of Northwest Arkansas Engagement, a new role at the University of Central Arkansas. This appointment signifies the university’s commitment to strengthening ties with alumni and business partners in the region. Gatling brings extensive knowledge of the business community, having worked as the editor and associate publisher of the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal since 2011. His experience will be invaluable in fostering meaningful connections and partnerships.

In this new role, Gatling will work to share UCA’s story and make a positive impact in the region. President Houston Davis emphasized the importance of Northwest Arkansas as an economic engine and a key area where many UCA alumni reside. Gatling’s Background and Achievements

  • Originally from Arkansas, Gatling moved to Bentonville in 2001 and later joined the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal in 2011.
  • He was promoted to editor and associate publisher, covering regional business news across various media platforms.
  • Before joining the journal, Gatling worked as sports editor at the Benton County Daily Record for nine years.
  • He holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from Henderson State University.
