Hendrix College Admissions Director Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award
Beverly Henry Wheeler, Interim Director of Admission at Hendrix College, has received the Beverly Henry Wheeler Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). This prestigious award acknowledges her remarkable contributions and dedication to advancing equity, inclusion, and diversity in the college admissions profession.
Wheeler, who began working at Hendrix in 2016 as a regional director of admission, has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering connections with prospective students and families across Texas. Her accomplishments extend beyond her work at Hendrix, having served as president of both the Texas Association for College Admission Counseling (TACAC) and NACAC.
Over her illustrious four-decade career, Wheeler has received numerous accolades, including the TACAC Founder’s Award in 2016 and the TACAC Honorary Lifetime Member Award in 2018. Her leadership roles and mentorship have had a profound impact on the industry, with her involvement in the NACAC Board of Directors, the Colleges That Change Lives (CTCL) board, and her role as a faculty member and lead for the Guiding the Way to Inclusion (GWI) conference.
