Hendrix College Admissions Director Honored for Lifetime Achievement
Beverly Henry Wheeler, the Interim Director of Admission at Hendrix College, has been recognized with the inaugural Beverly Henry Wheeler Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).
The prestigious award was presented at the 45th annual Guiding the Way to Inclusion (GWI) conference in New Orleans on July 31, celebrating Wheeler’s long-term dedication to advancing equity, inclusion, and diversity in the college admission profession.
Wheeler has worked at Hendrix College since 2016, connecting with prospective students and families in Texas as a regional director of admission. Her extensive involvement in the field includes service as president of the Texas Association for College Admission Counseling (TACAC) and on the NACAC Board of Directors, as well as on the board of directors of Colleges That Change Lives.
She has also been an active participant in the GWI conference, serving as a faculty member, small group facilitator, and faculty lead. This award not only honors her lifetime of service but also solidifies her impact on shaping the GWI community.
Hendrix College President Karen Petersen praised Wheeler, stating, “Beverly has long been regarded as a leader in her field, and we are fortunate to have her expertise in her new role as Interim Director of Admissions.”
