Hendrix College and Clinton School Launch Public Service Program
Hendrix College has entered into a groundbreaking partnership with the Clinton School of Public Service to offer a innovative public service program. This partnership, announced on June 13, 2024, aims to prepare Hendrix students for careers as public service leaders through the Clinton School’s Master of Public Service degree program.
Under the agreement, Hendrix students and alumni with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher are guaranteed admission into the Clinton School’s Master of Public Service program. Additionally, they will receive a minimum of half-tuition scholarships. Merit-based scholarships are also available for qualified applicants, and available scholarships will be reviewed annually by the Clinton School.
This new program emphasizes collaborative learning opportunities between Hendrix College’s Odyssey Program and the Clinton School’s Office of Field Service. During the academic year, Clinton School representatives will visit Hendrix College to meet with interested students, faculty, and staff advisors to promote the program.
Leaders from both institutions highlighted the shared mission of developing leaders who can make a difference globally. Hendrix College President Karen Petersen expressed gratitude for the partnership, stating that it provides an opportunity for Hendrix students to further develop the skills they need to be effective leaders. Clinton School Dean Victoria DeFrancesco Soto emphasized that this partnership will equip the next generation of public service leaders.
The guaranteed admission and scholarship opportunities will be available to Hendrix students applying to the Clinton School’s Master of Public Service program starting from the 2025-2026 academic year. This partnership not only enhances the academic experience but also offers students a range of opportunities to engage in public service initiatives.
