Little Rock City Board Approves Project to Renovate Two Rivers Park Bike Trail

On Tuesday, the Little Rock City Board of Directors approved a significant project aimed at renovating the bike trail in Two Rivers Park. This initiative is widely anticipated to enhance safety and overall user experience, addressing the trail’s deteriorating state due to encroaching pine tree roots.

The project boasts substantial funding, comprising a ,000 federal grant and over 0,000 from bond funding, totaling 5,000. Parks and Recreation Director Leland Couch emphasized the importance of routine maintenance for these trails, expressing his optimism about the upcoming improvements.

A key aspect of the renovation will be resurfacing approximately a mile and a half of the trail. This will significantly improve the overall usability and attractiveness of the trail, particularly for bikers and pedestrians who frequently use the trail. Additionally, the Arkansas River Trail system, to which Two Rivers Park belongs, spans over 40 miles, providing a significant recreational resource for the community.

Overall, the approval of this project demonstrates the city’s commitment to sustaining and upgrading its recreational infrastructure, catering to both local residents and tourists alike. With a projected completion date of around the end of November, the renovation is expected to positively impact the County’s tourist attractions.
