Significant Growth in Student Enrollment at Arkansas Colleges
Across the Arkansas higher education landscape, major institutions are celebrating substantial student enrollment growth, a promising trend for both the state and the future of its students. The University of Arkansas (UA) and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UA Little Rock) have both reported remarkable increases in enrollment figures, indicating that these colleges are attracting students with their strong academic programs and commitment to affordability.
UA Little Rock has seen a significant surge in its undergraduate enrollment, with an impressive 3.7 percent increase this fall compared to last year, reflecting a total of 5,434 students enrolled. Meanwhile, the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville has reported record-breaking enrollment for the fourth consecutive year, reaching a total of 33,610 students. Freshman and transfer student numbers have experienced notable increases at both institutions. At UA Little Rock, first-time freshman enrollment surged by 28.9 percent, while transfer students saw a substantial 18.2 percent increase. The University of Arkansas, on the other hand, welcomed its second-largest freshman class in history, with 6,614 students.
