High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Dramatic Fashion, Suspects Taken into Custody
In a thrilling sequence of events, four suspects, including one wanted for Capital Murder, were taken into custody following two separate police pursuits in Comal County and Guadalupe County, culminating in a dramatic conclusion in New Braunfels.
Initial Pursuit
The first pursuit began around 10:15 AM when officers from the New Braunfels Police Department were called to the 2600 block of White Wing Way for a report of a possible burglary. As officers arrived, two male suspects fled the scene in a white Kia sedan that had been reported stolen. The pursuit led onto the Northbound I-35 frontage road and ended abruptly when the suspect vehicle crashed into another vehicle. The suspects fled on foot but were quickly apprehended and transported to the Comal County Jail. One suspect sustained a minor injury in the crash and required treatment, while no other significant injuries were reported. One suspect had an active warrant out of Houston for Capital Murder, and both suspects face charges of Evading in a Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Second Pursuit
The second pursuit began in Guadalupe County around noon and continued into New Braunfels, where the New Braunfels Police Department assisted local officers. The pursuit entered New Braunfels along Walnut Avenue at I-35 and ended at the Engel Road turnaround. Two male suspects were taken into custody. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is now handling the investigation, and any additional details will come from them or Guadalupe County.
Dramatic End
Contrary to the intensity of the chase, the final apprehension was surprisingly casual. After a high-speed pursuit through multiple county jurisdictions, the suspects ultimately stopped at an apartment building at the intersection of Runnymede Street and Lankershim Boulevard in Sun Valley. The driver and a female passenger were taken into custody while a third passenger ran away from officers and was subsequently apprehended at what appeared to be a tire shop nearby. No injuries were reported during the pursuit.
