UCA’s Incoming Class Achieves Record 26% Enrollment Growth
With a landmark surge in enrollment, the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) has welcomed one of its largest freshman classes ever. Preliminary data reveals that UCA experienced a significant 26% increase in incoming students from fall 2023, boasting a record-breaking 2,183 new freshmen.
This exceptional expansion marks the largest year-to-year increase in at least 25 years, with 446 more students than last year. The cohort, comprising nearly 40% first-generation students, hails from all 75 counties in Arkansas. The average ACT score for this class stands at 22.1, with a cumulative GPA of 3.59.
UCA’s new financial initiative, UCA Commitment, has played a key role in this growth. Launched for the fall 2024 semester, the program provides a debt-free pathway for Arkansas students from households earning up to 0,000. This commitment has enabled tuition and fees to be covered for eligible students, which accounts for about a third of the total incoming class.
