The operation was part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, a nationwide initiative by the U.S. Department of Transportation to combat drunk driving. This endeavor, running until September 2, has law enforcement agencies across the state participating in the campaign.

During the operation, Arkansas State Police officers engaged with 456 individuals, issuing a total of 241 tickets. These included 47 speeding tickets and 29 hazardous traffic violation tickets. The effort resulted in 39 criminal arrests, with 33 of those arrested being individuals with outstanding warrants. Additionally, two chases resulted in one person being taken into custody for illegal drug possession.

This proactive move by the Arkansas State Police highlights their commitment to ensuring public safety, especially during major holidays like Labor Day, when impaired driving is more prevalent.
