Sweltering heat continues to grip the Natural State as temperatures soar. Meteorologist Tracy Bean has issued a TV 11 weather impact alert, warning of dangerous temperatures that will stick around through the week. Residents are advised to limit their time outdoors, stay hydrated, and take breaks to avoid heat-related illnesses.
In more urgent news, the Arkansas State Police have confirmed that the last person seen with missing 16-year-old Autumn Nicole Lynn has been detained in Grand Prairie, Texas. Although Autumn is still unaccounted for, she is believed to be near Dallas. Authorities will continue to provide updates as the investigation unfolds.
A former North Little Rock police officer, Jesse Gosage, is facing criminal charges after using his weapon during a traffic stop. Gosage initiated the stop due to expired tags and fired multiple times, striking a nearby car but fortunately causing no injuries. He has stepped down from the force and will face battery and assault charges in September.
Lanes will shut down along Highway 67 starting September 1, as part of the I-30 widening project. Drivers in Saline County should prepare for detours and route adjustments through September 3.
