Fairfield Bay Community Club Faces Protests Amid Sewer Shutdown Of Liquor Store Beaver Liquors

Over 25 100 residents of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, gathered outside Beaver Liquors at 133 Beaver Rd today to protest against the Fairfield Bay Community Club, the town’s homeowners association (HOA). The protesters are demanding financial transparency from the community club following its decision to shut down the sewer service to the town’s only liquor store, despite the store’s bills being paid. The protest is the latest development in a long-standing conflict between certain individuals on the community club’s board and the townspeople. Residents allege that the board has been using questionable legal loopholes to strip away land from property owners. David Byard, head of the board, faces numerous allegations, with townspeople claiming to have audio recordings of conversations to support their claims.

“It’s outrageous that the community club would shut down the sewer to our only liquor store, especially when the bills have been paid,” said [Redacted], a local resident and protest organizer. “This is just another example of the board’s abuse of power and lack of transparency.”The protesters are calling for an independent audit of the community club’s finances and a thorough investigation into the allegations against David Byard and other board members. They also demand the immediate restoration of the liquor store’s sewer service.”We won’t stand for this any longer,” said [Redacted], another protester. “The community club is supposed to serve the best interests of our town, not engage in shady dealings and power plays. We need answers, and we need them now.”The Fairfield Bay Community Club has not yet responded to requests for comment on the situation. As tensions continue to rise, the future of Fairfield Bay remains uncertain. The townspeople are determined to fight for their rights and hold the community club accountable for its actions.

In a new development, residents have reported discrepancies in their bank statements after dining at a community club-owned restaurant. Instead of the restaurant’s name appearing on their statements, a different club-owned entity was listed as the recipient of their payments. This discovery has raised suspicions among the townspeople, who believe that the community club is deliberately moving funds between its various entities to conceal questionable activities. The protesters are now demanding a comprehensive audit of all the community club’s financial records, including those of its subsidiaries and related entities, to uncover the full extent of the alleged misconduct and bring transparency to the club’s operations.

  1. Good for you Martin. Everything you said is true. I might mention that $850,000.00 is missing and no one on the board will discuss it. Also, David Byard ,himself, has changed the name from Community Club to Resort Board. It has never been done legally. Which account does the members dues money go into, Comm Club or Resort Board? Also a lot of the dues paying members have accepted favors in the form of money, land, real estate commissions etc. I believe this was done to ensure yes votes from them and also that they agree with everything the board and leader wants. David Byard has stacked the board with his yes men by appointing them to the board instead of electing them. He also has changed the bylaws to benefit the Him and the board. He also did away with the elections this year. I for one am glad the Corruption is being exposed.

  2. Crooked FFB HOA has hijacked member’s funds!! Will not disclose financials! Cancelled members right to vote! If they don’t like you because you call them out they have your sewer shut off like Beaver Liquors. There are audio recordings of the HOA president making threats against members that if they go against him they will become a John Doe! Recall FFB Community Club Board!!!!!

  3. I am the owner of Beaver Rd Liquors. My attorney has sent a cease and desist letter (4/30/2024) to both FFBCC and Community Water to immediately turn my water and sewer back on. This is against Arkansas law!!!
The FFBCC has yet to respond as they do when asked for any proof from the courts, the Members, nor the United States Corp of Engineers. They have dodged all requests.
We also requested a complete statement of my account which they have never provided.
This overreacting act from a non government entity is retaliatory, discriminatory, and plain harassment.
I am a female owned business. My sewer bill is over paid as is my water bill.

    We need help!!!
We have no voice, no justice, no law enforcement holding these crooks accountable.

    1. KARMA for slandering people online! Fuck you. Not a fan of The Club but not a fan of YOU either. Put down the bottle, Amie.
