Step Back in Time: The Arkansas Renaissance Festival Has Begun
On August 31st, the Arkansas Renaissance Festival officially opened its gates at Dragonstone Springs, ushering in a month of whimsical adventure and enchantment. This permanent 15th-century village, located just outside Conway, Searcy, and Heber Springs, will transport visitors back in time to the year 1486. As the leaves begin to turn and the air grows crisp, families and friends are invited to gather for a weekend to remember.
Jousting, Performances, and Vendors Galore
The festival promises an endless array of activities and spectacles. Real jousting tournaments will regale audiences, while over 13 stage performers will entertain daily with over 40 shows. Additional performances will be found in the lanes, where guests can marvel at fire breathing, stilt walking, and storytelling. The marketplace will be bustling with vendors offering wares and craftsmanship, perfect for those looking to take home a touch of the Renaissance.
Themed Weekends and Special Events
Across the five weekends, themed events will bring the magic alive. The first weekend marked the start of the festival, followed by Pirate/Fairy Weekend on September 7th and 8th. The Scottish Highland Games will take place on September 28th and 29th, while the Viking/Celtic Invasion and High Fantasy Weekend will fill the remaining weekends. Special events include a Royal Archery Tournament, a 5-course Champions Feast, and Tea with the Queen.
