Harding University's Largest Christmas Concert
Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, is gearing up to host its largest Christmas concert in history. The event is scheduled for December 5 and promises to be an unforgettable evening of festive music and performance.
A Star-Studded Lineup
The main attraction of the concert is Irish music sensation Emmet Cahill, a member of the renowned group Celtic Thunder. Cahill has just completed a 50-concert tour and will be taking the stage with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and Harding’s Grand Chorus. This marks Cahill’s second performance on Harding’s campus, following his highly acclaimed concert last December.
Arkansas Symphony Orchestra
The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, currently ranked as the #1 orchestra in the state, is also a highlight of the event. They performed on Harding’s campus last spring during the “Music of the Spheres” concert and will be returning to delight audiences once again.
Grand Chorus: A Combined Force
The Grand Chorus, combining the elements of the Harding Chorus and the Concert Choir, will showcase their skills in five numbers. Directed by Kyle Pullen and Stacey Neely respectively, the chorus has been preparing diligently for the past month. One of the pieces to be performed is in Scottish, and the group has been working to perfect the phonetic pronunciation of the words[1].
Harding Orchestra's Instrumental Support
Adding to the grandeur of the concert, the Harding Orchestra will lend some of its talented instrumentalists. Emily Palmer, a senior cellist with four years of experience at Harding, expressed excitement about the upcoming performance. The instrumental section will consist of approximately 15 players, mostly selected for their exceptional talents.
A Night to Remember
The concert will be held at 7:30 PM in the Benson Auditorium. The venue is expected to be heavily decorated, creating a beautiful scene for the audience. The event promises an hour and a half of enchanting music, featuring pieces such as “Danny Boy,” “O Holy Night,” “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Mary Did You Know,” and a suite from The Polar Express. Tickets are available now at hardingtickets.com, with a special half-price option for students.
