Fayetteville Library to Close for Maintenance
The Fayetteville Public Library is scheduled to close from September 23 to 30 to accommodate the installation of a new heating and air-conditioning system in the original Blair Building.
This necessary upgrade will see crews working on the air-conditioning system during the closure period. The library has adjusted the due dates for checked-out items to ensure users are not penalized during this time.
The closure is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the condition of the library’s facilities. Earlier in April, the library experienced a roof fire, resulting in the need for significant restoration work. The community is being encouraged to support the library’s restoration efforts.
In addition to maintenance, the library continues to engage the community with various events. For example, it recently hosted the Maker Faire NWA, a celebration of creativity and innovation featuring demonstrations, workshops, and performances. Other upcoming activities include a unique workshop on polyrhythmic beats and a book-voting event in collaboration with the Washington County Election Commission.
