Greenland Middle School Welcomes Students Back for the 2024-2025 Academic Year
Despite the summer heat, the excitement and anticipation are palpable as Greenland Middle School prepares for the new academic year. The faculty and staff have been hard at work over the summer, ensuring that every detail is taken care of for a seamless transition back to school. Key among these preparations is the recent round of renovations and upgrades to the facilities, including gym floor resurfacing, window replacements in the stone building, carpeting and tile replacements, and a thorough deep cleaning of the entire campus.
GCS Theme & Initiatives for the Year
Greenland Middle School has announced its theme for the year as “Be Creative,” encouraging students to explore their imaginations and express themselves in unique and innovative ways. This theme will be amplified by the presence of renowned author and illustrator Chris Van Dusen. The school will also be introducing new interactive panels in classrooms to replace aging projectors, upgrading student chromebooks and iPads, and making other significant advancements in technology. Parents are encouraged to participate more easily through the Greenland Parent Organization (GPO), which is restructuring to make it easier for busy parents to volunteer.
