Kessler Mountain Regional Park Road Closing for Microsurfacing Work
On Monday, a section of Judge Cummings Road at Kessler Mountain Regional Park in Fayetteville will be closed for microsurfacing work. This closure is a part of an ongoing maintenance project to extend the life of the asphalt surface.
This preventative maintenance method is important as it can add up to 10 years of life to the asphalt surface. Micro-surfacing is a mixture of emulsified asphalt, aggregate, water, and chemical additives that is spread evenly over the existing road. It dries quicker and costs significantly less than full reconstruction.
The road will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. While the work is underway. Users of the park should plan their visits accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
