Missouri Woman Pleads Guilty in ‘Feticide’ Murder
Amber Waterman, a 44-year-old Missouri resident, has accepted her fate, pleading guilty to the federal charges of kidnapping and murder in the brutal killing of Ashley Bush, a pregnant Northwest Arkansas woman. This heinous crime was orchestrated solely to claim Bush’s unborn baby.
Waterman masterfully fabricated a Facebook facade, using a false identity to lure Bush, 33, under the guise of offering employment assistance. However, that fateful encounter on October 31, 2022, would tragically end with Bush being abducted and brutally murdered, with her unborn baby also falling victim to Waterman’s twisted plan.
Investigations revealed that after the fateful encounter at the Arkansas convenience store, Waterman took Bush to her home in Pineville, Missouri. Hours later, a frantic 911 call reported a baby in distress. Responders arrived to find the baby lifeless, with Waterman initially claiming to have given birth. The ghastly truth emerged subsequently, exposing her cold-blooded intentions.
Bush’s body was discovered in a separate location, the cause of death being a gunshot wound. The exact details of the baby’s demise remain shrouded in mystery, as authorities have chosen not to disclose further details. Waterman’s plea accepted, she is now set to spend the rest of her life behind prison walls, a fate which she shares with others who have committed such monstrous crimes.
Meanwhile, Waterman’s husband, Jamie, is scheduled to stand trial in October for his alleged role as an accessory after the fact, accused of assisting in the disposal of Bush’s body. Their actions have left behind a trail of grief for Bush’s family, who must now come to terms with the loss of their loved one and the horror that unfolded.
With convictions for these crimes come harsh realities, but they also serve as a stark reminder of the lengths to which depraved minds will go. This tragic and gruesome episode will underscore the need for stringent law enforcement and, perhaps, a deeper look into the psychological causes behind such desperate acts of violence.
