Mount Sequoyah’s Music on the Mountain Series Kicks Off in September
Mark your calendars for a lively season of music in the Ozarks as Mount Sequoyah’s Music on the Mountain series returns this September. The long-awaited event promises to bring the essence of Arkansas roots to the forefront, starting with a vibrant concert series.
Set to begin on September 6th, the series will feature a stellar lineup of talented Arkansas musicians. Meadow Makers, comprising Dana Louise and Noah Richmond, will open the series with their unique blend of folk and melodic sounds. Known for pushing musical boundaries, they promise an engaging performance. The duo will take the stage at Vesper Point on September 6th, accompanied by opener Rose Davenport.
The event is free, thanks to the support of an Arkansas Heritage Grant. Patrons are encouraged to make reservations to ensure seating. Donations will go towards supporting Mount Sequoyah’s community programs. To enhance the experience, food and drinks will be available, with attendees having the option to add a large pizza to their ticket.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert will move indoors to Clapp Auditorium. Attendees will be notified through email and social media. This commitment to adaptability ensures that the music continues uninterrupted, enhancing the overall experience.
While the first concert sets the tone, the series has a lot more to offer. Following Meadow Makers, the lineup includes Amos Cochran, an Emmy-nominated composer known for his captivating soundscapes.
