Mt. Sequoyah Center to host Murder Mystery nights this week

Mount Sequoyah Center Hosts Intriguing Murder Mystery Nights

The Mount Sequoyah Center is set to entice audiences with an immersive Murder Mystery experience this weekend, featuring two nights of intrigue and entertainment on Friday, September 13, and Saturday, September 14.

This 1940s Gala event transports guests to the year 1941, a time of optimism as America recovers from the Great Depression and World War II has yet to begin. The event is hosted by Reverend Sam Yancey and his wife, who invite participants to a formal gala at Parker Hall to raise awareness for the 1942 plan to add cottages to the Mount Sequoyah Conference Center.

The evening includes delightful finger foods, refreshing beverages, and top-notch entertainment. Guests will have the pleasure of enjoying the talents of Tab Talloway, known for his hit song “Penny the Poocher.” Amidst the glamour and decadence, attendees can participate in a thrilling murder mystery, keeping track of clues as the story unfolds across multiple buildings on the Mount Sequoyah campus.

Those attending should dress for the occasion but be prepared for the event’s dynamic format, which involves walking between buildings. For the more adventurous, there is an opportunity to become a secret cast member, adding an extra layer of excitement to the experience.

On a lighter side, Mount Sequoyah Center will also host “Brunch on the Mountain” on Sunday, September 15, offering a unique taco brunch spread amidst the beautiful surroundings of the center.
