The Clothesline Fair Kicks Off with a Bang

As Labor Day weekend approaches, Prairie Grove gets ready to host another successful Clothesline Fair. This annual event is a highlight of the year for the community and visitors alike, bringing together a mix of tradition, entertainment, and fun for all ages.

The fair officially opens its gates at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, with the Clothesline Parade taking center stage at 9 a.m. The parade, featuring floats, antique cars, and fire trucks, marks the beginning of a fun-filled weekend.

Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy over 100 craft vendor booths and a variety of food trucks spread across the park. The fair runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, ensuring there’s plenty of time to soak in the festive atmosphere.

One of the major attractions this year is the square dance extravaganza, boasting an impressive 89 groups, of which 67 will participate in the exhibition and 22 will compete in the competition.

This beloved event has become a staple of the region, drawing people together for a joyous celebration of community and heritage. With its rich history and lively atmosphere, the Clothesline Fair promises to be an unforgettable experience once again.
