Plans Submitted for New Maverik Gas Station on Gregg Avenue

New Plans for Maverik Gas Station on Gregg Avenue

The application process continues for a new Maverik gas station to be built on Gregg Avenue. The site, purchased by Maverik for the construction, had initial plans to put a gas station next to the Silver Bow Drive-In in Butte, Montana.

The decision to move forward with the plan was met with some resistance, as many raised concerns about the impact on the drive-in and the surrounding area. Despite these concerns, the Zoning Board of Adjustments approved Maverik’s application.

The new gas station will be approximately 5,041 square feet, providing a wider range of services to the community. Residents initially voiced concerns about traffic issues and the overall aesthetic of the station, but Maverik made efforts to address these concerns through revised designs.

While Maverik’s plan received approval, the debate surrounding the potential impact on the Silver Bow Drive-In continues. Concerns about light and noise pollution have been raised, but Maverik has agreed to put measures in place to mitigate these effects.

Roger Armstrong, a council member, raised questions about the environmental impact of the construction, including the handling of gasoline storage tanks. Maverik assured him that they would use advanced leak detection and reinforced underground tanks to minimize risks.

  • Approval from the Zoning Board of Adjustments was given in a 5-0 vote.
  • The decision highlights potential benefits to the local economy and job market.
  • Certain conditions, including sound barriers and landscaping, were placed on the project prior to approval.
