Razorbacks Sweep Wooo Pig Invitational

The University of Arkansas volleyball team, ranked No. 21, dominated the Wooo Pig Invitational at Barnhill Arena, achieving a remarkable four consecutive sweeps in the tournament.

Arguably the most significant aspect of this achievement is the historical context, as this marks the first 7-0 start for the Razorbacks since 2002 and the first under head coach Jason Watson. Additionally, the team’s four consecutive home sweeps has not been achieved since 2011, and this is the first time it has ever happened in the same weekend.

The Razorbacks’ final match against Little Rock was a testament to their determination and resilience. In a close final set, back-to-back kills from Romani Thurman sealed the deal, giving Arkansas a 25-23 set victory and the match sweep. Thurman led the way with 15 kills, hitting .312 on the day and adding three blocks to her impressive performance.

Other standout players included freshman Aniya Madkin, who tallied 12 kills and hit .273, and senior setter Hannah Hogue, who paced the offense with 37 assists and 10 digs for a double-double. Senior middle blocker Tatum Sherrer continued her outstanding weekend with seven blocks in the match, bringing her four-match total to 23.
