Arrests and Incidents in Northwest Arkansas
On Thursday, several arrests were made in Northwest Arkansas in connection with various charges. Carlos Buchanan, a 48-year-old resident of Fayetteville, was taken into custody for distributing, possessing, or viewing child pornography.
A number of drug-related incidents also took place, including a drug bust in Fayetteville where three people were arrested. Kigana Hughes, 52, Angela Parish, 48, and Clyde Fletcher, 54, were apprehended for drug trafficking, possession of controlled substances, and other drug-related offenses. The operation, led by the 4th Judicial District Task Force, seized significant quantities of drugs, cash, and drug paraphernalia.
In other incidents, three men and two women were arrested in Springdale after detectives found large quantities of marijuana and methamphetamine. A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in Springdale, and a Stilwell man was sentenced to 35 years for sexually assaulting a minor.
A community picnic was held in Cane Hill, and the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History hosted a milkweed giveaway. The American Legion also organized a Salute to Female Veterans High Tea.
Fayetteville police are currently searching for a missing woman, and a gas line rupture occurred in Bentonville after a car crash. Additionally, a clinic is offering assistance for those seeking to renew their Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status, and Fayetteville has filled a previously vacant school board position.
The Dogwood Festival has returned to Siloam Springs, and a detention intake report from Washington County lists several recent arrests.
