University of Arkansas Commemorates 9/11 with Annual Memorial Stair Climb
The University of Arkansas is gearing up to host the 12th annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, honoring the sacrifices of first responders and those lost in the tragic event. This year’s event will take place on September 11, 2024, at the Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
This poignant tribute promises to be a powerful reminder of that fateful day. Participants will replicate the climb made by first responders 23 years ago, ascending 110 flights of stairs in a serpentine pattern. The memorable event brings together public safety agencies, student organizations, and civilians alike, fostering unity and gratitude.
Preparations are underway to ensure a successful event. Gates will open at 5:00 AM, and attendees are encouraged to park at Lot 44 on the stadium’s north side. The event itself will begin at 5:45 AM, preceded by opening statements at 5:20 AM. To facilitate the logistics, attendees are asked to fill out a registration form to track attendance accurately.
Last year’s event saw an impressive turnout, with over 750 participants from 25 different agencies and organizations. This year, organizers are eager to extend the invitation to more groups, furthering the impact of this meaningful tribute.
