University of Arkansas Names New Sturgis Fellows

The University of Arkansas has recently named the new class of Sturgis Fellows for the academic year. This prestigious fellowship program is part of the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences and is recognized for its excellence in academic achievement.

Five incoming freshmen from Arkansas have been selected for this prestigious award based on their outstanding academic records, leadership, and community service. The winners include Trevor Duke of Little Rock, Veronica Ivester of Little Rock, Taksh Patel of Fayetteville, Sarah Reaves of North Little Rock, and Muskan Taori of Bentonville.

These exceptional students will join the distinguished list of Sturgis Fellows and will have the opportunity to participate in the Honors Program within the Fulbright College. The program is designed to provide these outstanding students with individualized support and mentorship throughout their academic journey.

History of the Sturgis Fellowship

The Sturgis Fellowship was established in 1985 through a generous donation by the Dallas-based Roy and Christine Sturgis Charitable and Educational Trust. Initially, the endowment was million, but additional gifts in 1992 and 1998 have expanded the program to its current million endowment. This financial support allows for the Fellows to receive personalized attention and support from college staff.
