Excitement Builds for the 2025 Capital City Classic 10K
The annual Capital City Classic 10K is set to return with a bang on March 29, 2025, in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. This highly anticipated event has been a cornerstone of the city’s running culture for decades, attracting runners of all levels and ages.
A Family-Friendly Event
The Capital City Classic is more than just a race; it’s an event for the whole family. A free kids’ race, offering both a 1-mile and 1/3-mile track, will take place immediately before the 10K. This initiative aims to encourage younger runners to get involved in the sport and build a community of future runners in Central Arkansas. Last year, the kids’ race saw a significant turnout, with over 130 participating in 2024, compared to around 50 in 2022.
Return to Glory
After a remarkable comeback in 2024, the Capital City Classic is poised to continue growing in 2025. Following its move back to downtown Little Rock in 2022 and a difficult cancellation in 2023 due to a tornado, the race rebounded strongly. The 2024 edition saw nearly 1,100 participants register, a significant increase from 2022’s 355 registered 10K runners. Organizers are excited about the prospect of even greater success this year.
Prize Money and Incentives
The top finishers won’t go empty-handed. The top five male and female finishers will receive a minimum prize purse of ,000. The overall male and female winners will each take home an extra ,000. Runners can sign up online or participate in in-person registration on April 3rd from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Rock City Running in Little Rock. The day of the race day registration fees will be .00.
